- Market Drayton – a small market town 6 miles east of Cloverley, good walks on the canal tow path
- Grindley Brook – Shropshire Union canal with 3 ladder lock and tea shop.
- Brown Moss – Pleasant conservation area for walking
- Wem – the home of the Eckford sweet pea
- Shrewsbury – County town of Shropshire – good shops , castle and cathedral.

- Bridgemere Garden World – Much much more than a garden centre although if you love your plants visiting here is a must! Restaurant.
- Chester – a Roman town, with a city wall. Good shops
- Chester Zoo – a really excellent zoo where the animals are well cared for. Entrance fees are a little expensive
- Wrexham – A Welsh Border town
- Cosford Air Museum – free entry
- Dorothy Clive Gardens – well worth a visit
- Cheshire Candle Workshops – a chance to make your own candle. Other crafts to do too, so a good location for all ages. Tea shop on site.
- Chomondley Gardens – Superb gardens and a stunning pebblestone mosaic
- Crocky Trail – a series of fun activities and challenges that most kids will love.
- Ironbridge Gorge Museums – Experience our Victorian heritage – Blists Hill re-created Victorian Town, Coalport China and many other museums.
- Stapeley Water Gardens – in addition to the water gardens there are tropical birds and tamarin monkeys. Also an angling centre & tea room
- Weston Park – a 17th Century stately home of the Earls of Bradford

- Alton Towers – the ultimate place for thrilling rides
- Anderton Boat Lift – A 50feet lift from the River Weaver to the Trent & Mersey Canal. You can experience it too aboard the Edwin Clark
- Blue Planet Aquarium – an excellent array of sealife with a tunnel enabling a very close look at the sharks. You can touch the rays too.
- Cadbury World – where chocolate come to life.
- Erdigg (NT) – The house and gardens are well worth a visit.
- Lake Vyrnwy
- Llangollen – Steam railway, horse drawn canal boats and the Horseshoe Pass make this a worthwhile excursion.
- Pontcysllte Aqueduct – A Thomas Telford construction,126 feet above the River Dee. You can walk across if you have a head for heights!
- The Wrekin – a fairly easy walk to the top for most abilities – great views!
- The Black Country Museum – chat to costumed characters from a bygone era. A trip of nostalgia.
- Carding Mill Valley (NT) – The Long Mynd. Some excellent walking, a chance to see paragliding and a good NT tea and gift shop.
- Powis Castle (NT) – Well worth a visit, an excellent castle and stunning gardens. Terraced Gardens with world famous clipped Yews.
- Stokesay Castle – a must if you enjoy your history
- Trentham Gardens – Recently restored beautiful gardens and lake.
- Aerial Extreme – an adventure ropes course to test your nerve over 30 exciting obstacles.
- Liverpool – Visit the revitalized Albert Dock, the Cavern and the Beatles museum. All are worth a visit. They also have two football clubs!

- Conwy – An excellent Castle, a Telford suspension bridge plus the smallest house in Wales
- Bodnant Gardens (NT) – a must if you are a gardening enthusiast
- Chatsworth House – The splendid home of the Duke & Duchess of Devonshire
